Douglasville, Georgia – The Cultural Arts Council of Douglasville/Douglas County (CAC) is hosting the last of this season’s four, annual Summer Pop Up Parties on August 15, featuring exciting vendors, activities, food & more. In addition to popular events like the Chili Cook-Off and Taste of Douglasville, the CAC highlights local businesses with a wide variety of functions, including these four, smaller evenings of relaxation and entertainment. The Summer Pop Up Party on August 15th has been designed to be an easy stop off after a busy day; a nice place to grab a bite to eat and meet a friend.
August 15th is shaping up to be a very delicious evening at the CAC. South of Philly, Westside Creamery, and Tyrrific Treats will be in attendance to satisfy your culinary cravings! Talented local vendors, Fantastic Art by Jyn, Jayde’s Beadiful Beads, jBloom Permalinx, Something Unique, That.Dude.Jontron, and Wandering Starlights will also be in and around the historic property selling their wares! Youth vendor Adriana Payne will be selling her vibrant artwork and learning about the commercial side of being an artist. After enjoying live tunes performed by The Band | Contemporary, sampling snacks, and browsing the artist market, guests can explore the newly restocked Tiny Fundraiser community exhibit and view the CAC’s current Fine Arts display, “Confessions: Art Heals the Broken” which showcases confessional paintings, sculptures, and drawings from four, local artists. Each Summer Pop Up Party offers community members a chance to discover local musicians, artists, and craftspeople while also enjoying great food and company.

As part of their fundraising efforts, the CAC organizes art-filled events throughout the year. During the summer, the CAC hosts the “Tiny Fundraiser”, where 6×6 artworks are sold for $20 to support the arts. Each 6×6 canvas is lovingly painted by a local artist! This tradition has become a favorite among locals, who return year after year to add to their collections and support local artists at an affordable price. The Tiny Fundraiser has evolved into a community-driven initiative, and visitors are encouraged to collect a 6×6 artwork at each Summer Pop Up Party.
