We are always looking for local crafters/artists to sell their creations in our monthly Pop Up Arts Shop. Spots are filled two years out, but there are sometimes opportunities for new applicants to participate sooner in the case of cancelations.
The Pop Up Arts Shop is the place for amazing one-of-a-kind gifts created by local artists. Each month the CAC features a different artist that works with varying mediums. All items must be priced under $75. Marketing and point-of-sale are handled by the CAC. So, participation is easy for artists.

The CAC’s Pop Up Arts Shop Welcomes Award Winning Painter Joe Erni
Every month the Cultural Arts Council of Douglasville/Douglas County features the artwork of a local craftsman in its Pop Up Arts Shop. The CAC strives to connect the Douglasville community to affordable, locally created products, and is proud to welcome award-winning, local oil painter Joe Erni as October’s Pop Up Arts Shop artist! Specializing in a wide variety of oil painted subjects, Joe Erni is a well-known local creator, consistently winning prizes at the CAC’s competitive exhibits. His paintings are set apart by their carefully chosen subject matter and technical proficiency.
Joe grew up in southern Indiana and has lived in Georgia since 1983. He joined the Navy after high school where he found time to draw during his many hours at sea. After the Navy, he studied art at Indiana University, graduating in 1980. He then had a 36-year commercial art career in advertising as a mechanical artist, art director, graphic designer, and marketing manager.
Joe has been painting steadily since 2018 and works mostly using oil paints. He has been a selected artist at the CAC’s juried exhibits for
the past three years and has won multiple awards. Lately, he has been working on a series of paintings of people with their cars. Additionally, he has had several commissions to depict people’s houses in oil paint. He works out of a small studio at his home in Douglasville.
