Pop Up Arts Shop
We are always looking for local crafters/artists to sell their creations in our monthly Pop Up Arts Shop. Spots are filled two years out, but there are sometimes opportunities for new applicants to participate sooner in the case of cancelations.
The Pop Up Arts Shop is the place for amazing one-of-a-kind gifts created by local artists. Each month the CAC features a different artist that works with varying mediums. All items must be priced under $75. Marketing and point-of-sale are handled by the CAC. So, participation is easy for artists.
If you are interested in participating, you should write to our arts coordinator luciana.vinci@artsdouglas.org to apply.
Art on Loan
The CAC works with local businesses to provide a transitional gallery for the public. Individual artists loan collections of their work to important local offices, businesses, and meeting spots, so that their work can be enjoyed and viewed by the community. Viewers interested in purchasing artwork from the public exhibits are able to contact the CAC to purchase the artwork they see. The CAC manages finding businesses who want to participate, handles the promotion of the artwork, and oversees the point of purchase for any artworks sold. This makes it easy for artists to participate and make money doing it.
If you are interested in participating, you should write to our arts coordinator luciana.vinci@artsdouglas.org to apply.
Recent exhibits include: Yoon Powell featured at WSA, the CAC Permanent Collection featured at City Hall, The late Barry Benner featured at Lithia Springs Senior Center, and Carol Thompson featured at Hughes Ray Company Engineers, Surveyors & Landscape Architects.
Gallery Exhibits
Exhibits on display at the Cultural Arts Center of Douglasville/Douglas County rotate every month to two months. Each exhibit is freshly coordinated, with certain exhibits returning annually or biennially: Youth Art Month every March, the Winter Wonderland Holiday Exhibit featuring local students every December, and the National Juried Arts Show (NJAS) every September. All of our gallery exhibits are open to the public and free to view during business hours.
The National Juried Art Show has a public call which starts in August of each year. Other exhibits are often themed and individual artists are selected to fit the theme. Sometimes, specific artists are selected to showcase their work. In general, exhibits are planned two years in advance. So artists are encouraged to submit their body of work and resume to us as soon as possible so that they will be on file for future shows.
If you are interested in participating, you should write to our arts coordinator luciana.vinci@artsdouglas.org to apply.
Public Art
