“Remembrance – A Memorial Exhibit”
Douglasville, GA – An exhibit entitled “Remembrance” focused on the ability of art to preserve the point of view and memory of an artist even after they are gone will be on display at the Cultural Arts Center of Douglasville/ Douglas County (CAC) from July 6 – August 25th, 9 am – 5 pm. The free opening reception will be celebrated on Thursday, July 9th from 6-8 pm at the CAC, hosted by Kaiser Permanente and featuring delicious food from SharBerry Kitchen. Anyone and everyone is invited! Focused on the power of artwork to preserve the memory of departed artists, this powerful exhibit will feature work by creative souls who have passed. The pieces selected for the show are crystalized memories; moments in time which provide a snapshot of the spirit of the person long after they have died.
Throughout the years, the CAC has had the honor of displaying the work of hundreds of gifted and inspiring artists. This
exhibit honors the memory of some of these artists by featuring the beautiful and powerful artwork they created during their lives. “Remembrance” is a heartfelt exhibit dedicated to celebrating the lives, legacies, and artistic contributions of these remarkable individuals. This special showcase brings their artwork back to light, offering both a tribute and an opportunity for reflection.
Through these pieces, we are reminded of the power of art to transcend time, connect generations, and preserve the essence of those who created it. Artists Donald Holdman, Barry Benner, Betty Norton, Mary Ann Carney, Elizabeth Stephenson, Mariano Zucchi, Lois Robertson, Mel Miller, and Arlene Seitzinger are among those who will have their pieces displayed as a memorial to their life’s creative work. Guests to the exhibit reception will have the opportunity to participate in a memorial activity celebrating these passed artists and remembering loved ones they have lost in their own lives.
Host of the exhibit reception, Kaiser Permanente, is a long time, major partner to the CAC. Their mission is to provide high-quality, affordable health care services and to improve the health of their members and the communities they serve. They are dedicated to extending care, grants, and environmental sustainability initiatives into the neighborhoods where people live, work, and play.
