The CAC Celebrates 40 Years and Receives State Recognition at its Annual Meeting

Douglasville, Georgia – The Cultural Arts Council of Douglasville/Douglas County (CAC) celebrated its fortieth anniversary at a uniquely special Annual Meeting on Tuesday, June 2nd at the historic CAC building and grounds. This yearly event is usually a relatively low-key affair in which the CAC offers transparency about their business objectives and financials by inviting everyone in the community to come and listen. However, this year, in celebration of the CAC’s 40th anniversary, the event was expanded to include state-fair-themed anniversary fun, including a dunk tank (with proceeds going to support the CAC and participating arts organizations), food trucks, art vendors, cotton candy, funnel cakes, dirty sodas, and more, in addition to offering self-guided tours of the current Douglas County Art Guild Exhibit, which is on Read More

The CAC Receives Arts & Culture Campus Funding from State of Georgia

Douglasville, Georgia – As the Cultural Arts Council of Douglasville/Douglas County (CAC) celebrates its fortieth anniversary of local service, its history of hard work, efficiency, and partnership are paying off by drawing major investment to various facets of its mission. The most ambitious goal of the CAC heading into its anniversary year is the new Arts and Culture Campus project which aims to bring a 94,000 square foot state-of-the-art, multiuse arts and culture facility to downtown Douglasville.   Most recently, the State of Georgia has added their vote of confidence to the CAC’s campus project with a sizable financial commitment. Through House Bill 973, the amended FY’26 budget includes investment in the Cultural Arts Council’s new Arts & Culture Campus, bringing the CAC one step Read More
