Douglasville, Georgia – The Cultural Arts Council of Douglasville/Douglas County (CAC) invites you to visit and vote for the People’s Choice Award during this year’s Scarecrow Contest. View the handmade Scarecrows at the Cultural Arts Center located at 8652 Campbellton St. on display from October 1st through 31st. Votes will be tallied, and the people’s choice winner will be announced on the CAC Facebook & Instagram on November 3rd. Follow the CAC on social media to stay updated: @cac.dville.
This year the CAC invited many local businesses and organizations to get into the Fall spirit by creating a scarecrow to represent their groups. Participants include Alexander High School, the Douglas County High School Art Club, Douglas County Parks & Recreation, the Douglas County Resource Alliance, the Douglas County Rotary Club, the Douglasville Gymnastics & Cheerleading Club, FCCLA, the Lithia Springs High School Robotics Club, the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, New Manchester High School CTSO, Partners in Education of Douglas County, Stallings Insurance Agency, and Youth Villages. Each group created their unique scarecrow to compete for a cash prize sponsored by Keep Douglasville Beautiful.
Voting for the people’s choice award is simple! Voting takes place from Oct. 1st through 31st. You can vote online by visiting the Scarecrow
Contest Photo Gallery on our Facebook page and liking the image of your favorite scarecrow or you can visit the Cultural Arts Center and explore the different scarecrows on the lawn. Each scarecrow will have a sign with its name. Once you have found a favorite, stop inside to write out your vote. Submit your vote in the wooden box on the pedestal beside the front door! Winners for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place will be announced during the Annual Chili Cook Off on October 18th from 6-9 pm at O’Neal Plaza.
