Family ARTSventure! Story Ship’s “Wand of Dreams”
The Cultural Arts Council Douglasville/Douglas County (CAC) presents its last Family ARTSventure of the year in a celebration of the magic of the arts, intended for all ages and brought to you in the comfort of your home. The Story Ship offers a unique, humorous, and technologically-studded video full of whimsy and special effects, due to pop up on your screen on Wednesday, May 20, 2020.
If you follow our facebook page https://www.facebook.com/cac.dville/ and explore our events, you can’t miss this one-of-a-kind performance. The Family ARTSventure! program, normally performed within Douglas County schools and public libraries, is intended to expand the mind to the culture of arts around the world, blurring the lines between what we limit the meaning of the word “art” to entail, and the true nature of art that is all around us as we live our life through it. From music, to costumes, to screenplays and writing, to the art of comedy and jokes, and the wonder of set design that can take us to a whole new world, “Wand of Dreams” is sure to push the boundaries of what an art piece can be…it might even be a little educational as well, shhhh…don’t tell the kids.
Once debuted on Wednesday, May 20, there will only be a limited duration of time to view the show. By May 31, the magic will poof and disappear having left you with only the mesmerizing techniques of Sean Driscoll’s “awe”-some performance, as he flies off to sparkle his fairy dust of entertainment for others.
Sean Driscoll began performing professionally at the age of fifteen. In 1976, at the age of sixteen, he was awarded the Young Artist award in Atlanta, GA and began a long career entertaining children in schools with educational programs. Now forty years later, Sean Driscoll tours regularly throughout the United States, performing in Theaters, schools, libraries, radio, television, concert, and festival settings.
Funding for this program is made possible by Georgia Council for the Arts, Georgia Power, and Douglas County Economic Development Authority. Follow us for future opportunities with our Family ARTSventures! Program, stay updated on our website at Artsdouglas.org.
