Some of the photographers featured in this exhibit will be Janet Newton’s “Angel Trumpet” showcasing her unique style of photography. Randy Johnson’s breathtaking view of “Heavenly”.  And another local photographer, Tawni Blamble‘s ,“Tequila Sunset” will astound all who see it.  This exhibit is also featured in the “Atlanta Celebrated Photography” (ACP) festival guide.  ACP hosts an annual, citywide photography festival in October: the Atlanta Celebrates Photography Festival. The festival includes a wide variety of exhibitions and multiple events around Atlanta and throughout the surrounding communities. The festival’s diverse offerings bring together professional and amateur photographers, general art enthusiasts, gallery owners, critics, and collectors. Executive director for the Cultural Arts Council, Emily Lightner stated, “We are thrilled to be a part of this year’s ACP festival and eager to help cultivate and enrich the art community.”

The Sweetwater Camera Club meets the second Thursday of each month. Doors open at 6:00 pm and meetings begin at 7:00 pm in Room 1 of the Douglasville Conference Center, 6700 Church Street, in downtown Douglasville.  The purpose of SCC is to share and promote photography for enjoyment and recreation. This large enthusiastic group conducts monthly photo contests on different themes and presents expert photographers as guest speakers at each meeting. The Sweetwater Camera Club conducts several field trips per month and stages local and regional exhibitions throughout the year. The club presents a group show of recent works by its members every other year at the Cultural Arts Council and its individual members are often included in other exhibits throughout the year as well. This year’s show includes many deservedly well-established local photographers and also introduces fascinating pieces by newcomers to the community and the club.
