Meet Jackie!

Jackie Chapman is a self-proclaimed crafter turned ceramic artist, with a passion for lovingly creating ceramic pieces with a lot of personality. After spending over 20 years working for the Douglas County School System, Jackie now spends her time creating pottery. To spice up her pieces, Jackie likes to add fun accents like chickens, frogs, birds, flowers, and other glazed patterns. Jackie takes the journey from clay to pottery very seriously. Each one of Jackie’s pieces starts from a 25-pound bag of stoneware clay that is then meticulously molded into plates, plant pots, bowls, figurines, mugs, and many more items. After Jackie finishes the shape of a piece she then decorates the pottery with ceramic animals, leaves, and patterns. Each piece is then fired in a kiln at over 2000 degrees, ensuring that each piece is safe to eat on and has a picture-perfect finish.

Jackie’s favorite part of the process is personalizing each piece according to what the customer wants. If someone can dream it up, then Jackie can turn it into something real! Plant pot with a rooster head on it? Jackie can make it! Salad bowl with a family of frogs crawling on the outside? Jackie’s got you covered. Interacting with customers and other creatives is a guiding principle for Jackie in all of her artistic endeavors.
