“Hey! What’s That Sound?” Free Performance

Douglasville, Georgia – The Cultural Arts Council Douglasville/Douglas County is kicking off another exciting Family ARTSVentures series!  Join us on Saturday, September 15 at 10:30 am for our Family ARTSVentures program: Hey!  What’s That Sound, presented by Dave Holland at the Douglas County Library.  This FREE performance will enthrall all ages.  During this 45 –minute performance, students will be introduced to basic sound and science principles, various environmental resources and how this knowledge can help us to better understand how music is created.  This STEAM- powered program explores sound and science through world percussion and high energy audience interaction.  Students will explore sound and science concepts through engaging demonstration, intriguing show and tell and world music performance.  Dave Holland will also be performing two shows for different grade levels at Chapel Hill Elementary this September.

Family ARTSventures! is a program designed to introduce performing artists into the schools with curricula-based programs, followed by an appearance at a public event for children and adults alike to enjoy.  Beatin’ Path Rhythm Events is a team of professional performers, facilitators and teaching artists who believe in the power of rhythm to create high impact experiences and long-lasting connections!  Leading this team is Dave Holland, one of Atlanta’s most regarded figures in rhythm-based facilitation, world percussion and teaching artistry. Dave’s dedication to world culture and music has taken him around the globe to study from master performers, bringing those experiences back to the U.S. to create memorable assembly programs, workshops, and residencies.

Funding to make “Family ARTSventures!” possible comes from the GreyStone Power Foundation, Georgia Council for the Arts, Douglas County Economic Development Authority and the Douglas County School System. Dave Holland will be followed by A Company of Friends on October 6th at the Dog River Library at 10:30 am.
