The National Juried Arts Show attracts artists throughout Georgia, as well as states across the Country. The annual exhibit is open themed and open to all mediums, bringing a diverse collection from many artists with unique styles and subject matter. Three expert judges will jury a select number of artworks into the exhibit, and the final group of work will be juried again to arrive at six top pieces that will earn awards and cash prizes. Prizes will be announced at the opening reception on September 2, 5-7 pm. The awards ceremony at the opening reception will be hosted by the Douglas County Art Guild. The cash prizes are sponsored by Miller Architecture and Planning. This year’s jury panel welcomes three accredited Judges: Nikki Davidson, a professional artist owning Thunder Ridge Studio in Dallas, Ga., trained in California Community Colleges; Valerie Dibble, Professor of Art currently at KSU with a background in printmaking and photography; Shawn Campbell, holding a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Akron and a Master of Fine Arts from UGA.
