EXHIBIT: NJAS (National Juried Art Show)

Artists from around the Nation have been invited to submit work to the CAC, and the top artworks have been selected for a chance to exhibit for 6 cash awards. The exhibit will remain on display from September 7 to September 28, with a reception and awards ceremony on September 7 from 6-8 pm, hosted by the Douglas County Art Guild. The artworks represented include all mediums and subject matter, with the winners being selected by three judges reflecting a diverse array of experience and backgrounds. Cash prizes include 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place, Honorable Mention, and a People’s Choice award to be announced at the end of the exhibit once all votes have been cast. The Douglas County Art Guild will select a winner for an award selected by their committee.

NJAS 2023 judges include:
Donald Holdman is a classically trained artist, receiving his education in the fine arts from both The University of Colorado and Trinidad State College. He has received accolades as a graphic artist, illustrator, and was the first black designer/illustrator hired by the Turner Outdoor advertising art department, among numerous other distinctions.
Susan James is a printmaker, specializing in intaglio etchings and copperplate photogravures (photographs etched into copper). James received her education in New York City from Parsons School of Design and Thomas Edison State College in New Jersey, as well as intensive studies in Florida, NYC, and Italy.
Miles Davis is an award-winning painter working in the Southeastern United States. Davis received his BFA from Auburn University and hsa been included in grant projects from the National Endowment for the Arts. To learn more about Miles Davis, visit massiveburnstudios.com
