Douglasville GA – The Cultural Arts Council Douglasville/Douglas County (CAC), the team that organizes each year’s Taste of Douglasville Festival, unveils the much-anticipated 5th annual Mosaic Multicultural Festival. This vibrant celebration of diverse cultures is set to take place on Saturday, September 12th, 2026 from 11 am – 4 pm at the Cultural Arts Center, located at 8652 Campbellton Street. The Mosaic Multicultural Festival began half a decade ago as a supplement to the annual Taste of Douglasville festival. The annual foodie fling sees a crowd of nearly 13,000 visitors each May, generating interest in the community and driving local business. Community members felt that a similar event with a focus on heritage and culture would be a welcome addition to the local calendar. The CAC responded by hosting a thoughtful, slightly smaller event in the more relaxed atmosphere of its historic headquarters.
The goal of the Mosaic Multicultural Festival is to represent the tapestry of cultures and ethnicities that form the Douglas County community. This celebration is designed to be both a lot of fun, and an opportunity to appreciate the diverse bounty of food, art, and performances that our region can produce thanks to its unique blend of cultures. Guests at the festival receive a “passport to the world” which allows them to match each vendor to the culture they represent. It’s an excellent educational opportunity for kids to learn about their world in a creative and exciting way. The CAC is proud to be the point of artistic convergence for all local residents, providing a reflection of the county’s vibrant mosaic of cultures.
The 2026 festival will bring together a unique array of performances including the National Anthem, choral pieces and African drumming from Alexander High School, original reggae
songs by Iseen Jahsenye, inspirational music and sound healing by Johnnie Proby, Flamenco dancing by Julie Galle Baggenstoss of Berdolé Flamenco, Creole spoken word by Kaidee’s Productions, a smooth soulful blend of R&B, rock, and soft rock by Keynotes & the Vibe, clean rap music by Salim the Dream, and a variety of Hawaiian and other tunes by, returning performers, the West Georgia Ukulele Ensemble. The event will also include an excellent line up of food vendors coming including African street food from Afro Chops LLC.; Chicago classics from Andre’s Chicago Dogs; southern desserts from Cammie’s Sweet Treats & More; a wide variety of Italian ice flavors from Kona Ice; Jamaican jerk, plantains, and more from Levi’s Jerk Pit, LLC.; traditional Panamanian delicacies from Que Xopa Panamanian Food; famous festival favorites by Sankofa Catering; homemade lemonade from Signature Sip Lemonade; tacos, nachos, and more from Ta’con Todo, and a variety of homemade cookies from local student Ancha Mbye. Local organizations and artists will represent cultures from around the world at their vendor booths.
Vendors include the University of West Georgia Archeology Department, who will have six booths dedicated to prehistoric Native American culture and, last year’s best booth winners, the Douglas County School System Languages Department who will be representing the various cultures that they serve in our community. Horseback rides will be available from Rogue Reins Ranch, and guests will have a chance to enjoy a sample massage from Healing Hands Mobile Massage while listening to healing, crystal, singing bowls played by Johnnie Proby in our chill-out room. This event is made possible through the generous support of corporate sponsors: Amazon, Delta Community Credit Union, the Douglas County School System, Douglas County Transportation, Elevate Douglas, Georgia Power, Google, Greystone Power, HRC Engineers, Surveyors, and Landscape Architects, Kaiser Permanente, Premier Association Management, Stream Data Centers, West Georgia Arts & Culture, and Zeta Phi Beta – Phi Pi Zeta.
