Barns & Brush is an exhibit to celebrate the countryside, including scenic views, animals, fruits, trees, and rustic landscapes. The collection of paintings on display August 3-30 includes works by Allison Doke, Elizabeth Bame, Lorraine Kimsey, and Larry Smith. The exhibit is a breath of fresh air for the spirit, bringing viewers back to their homegrown roots. Farmers and City dwellers alike will enjoy the brushstrokes of nature’s simplicity. The opening reception on August 3, 6-8 pm is hosted by Beyond the Front Porch.
Show off your culinary skills as a chili chef in this year’s Chili Cook-Off competition. It’s a fun community event in downtown Douglasville and it’s a fundraiser for the Cultural Arts Council Douglasville/Douglas County.
Proceeds from booths and ticket sales support the work of the Cultural Arts Council bringing artists into the schools and community and hosting changing visual art exhibits year-round. 4-H also benefits from supporting the youth activities of the County Extension office. Sponsored by Lithia Springs Ford, Chapel Hill News & Views, and Elevate Douglas.
